The Orange County Workforce Development Board (OCWDB) was awarded the Veterans’ Employment-Related Assistance Program (VEAP) by the State of California Employment Development Department, to serve Veterans with employment and training services. The project will serve Veterans recently separated from active military duty within the last 48 months and other eligible veterans including those with significant barriers, eligible spouses, campaign veterans and others. VEAP will provide veterans the opportunity to obtain education in industry recognized certificates and/or degrees as well as the assistance to gain employment in high-wage, high-growth industries. The project provides veterans access to supportive services, mental health and behavioral services, and wrap-around services such as assistance with housing, medical care, substance abuse, peer navigation, job coaching, case management, and transportation assistance through our many established partners in the community.
The VEAP is one of a series of successful Veterans grants awarded over the years to serve Orange County Veterans. The employment and training services are offered at the OCWDB Workforce Solutions Centers located in Garden Grove and the Veterans Service Center at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos.
